BLUE CARD – liability insurance from the operation of the vessel covers damage caused by your vessel while driving, when the vessel is anchored in a port/marina, during transport or during storage on land to third parties. Liability insurance can be arranged for all types of vessels and is dependent on the engine power, possibly the size of the sails and territorial validity. BLUE CARD is already mandatory in several European countries (Croatia, Italy, Slovakia) and more will be added. Nowadays, however, you will not be allowed into most ports or marinas without a BLUE CARD. Even a docked vessel can cause damage to nearby vessels or the pier; it is enough for the wind to turn, or the lifeguard will mislead you to the mooring. The liability insurance is year-round, even in the hall where the vessel is winterized, damage may occur to the surrounding vessels. Liability insurance for sailing races or regattas is automatically included in the basic insurance. The insurance is arranged year-round and can of course be terminated if the vessel is sold. BLUE CARD – vessel liability insurance can be arranged for motorboats, sailboats, catamarans, jet skis, houseboats, steamboats, ferries or small fishing punts.
